So if you want to know why often wrong Bill Kristol is wrong in what he wrote in his last column please this post by Dani Rodrik Taking a break from his typical advocacy bombing the world in submission, Kristol decides to break in ground in the area of domestic economics.

What I found striking was this little about Americans being better off, “Now in almost every empirical respect, American lives have in fact gotten better over the last quarter-century.”Well that’s not correct as Rodrick shows, more importantly I think is that Almost every empirical respect is one of those lines that just never seems to be used by anyone that knows what they’re talking about . Can’t really offer any evidence for that assertion other then Kristol rarely knows what he’s talking about and he said it. But does that really sounds like something somebody that really studied the evidence would ever say?
