I thought this was pretty funny. Over heard in Washington DC .

Overheard of the Week

A man and a woman are walking dogs in Logan Circle:

Man: “You look familiar…”
Woman: “I think we are neighbors. 1st and Bates?”
Man: “Yeah, we live on the 1st street side.”
Woman: “Ah, I live near the crackhouse on Bates.”
Man: “Can you be more specific?”
Woman: “The RED crackhouse on Bates.”

Anyway aren’t crack houses so 1980s. I seriously can’t remember the last time anyone brought up crack houses in conversation. Maybe it’s just me. I’ve really lost touch with the crack smoking scene since 4th grade.

One Response to “Which Crackhouse?”

  1. I can understand why the man was confused. When you walked by a crackhouse in the 80s, you knew it immediately. Unfortunately crackheads are significantly more camouflage these days – and their houses have followed suit. Today, it’s not uncommon to find a crackhouse with hardwood floors and a subzero refrigerator.
I guess this is just one more reason to miss the 80s.
