Military Spending: Priceless

It was clear that John McCain was in good cop mode during his appearance on Meet the Press, but I couldn’t help notice the speed with which he transitioned from bitching about the budget situation, to endorsing the indefinite deployment of troops in Afghanistan.
It’s rare see to quite such a quick transition from calls for cut backs in the budget to an endorsement of spending as much as it takes to accomplish a military goal. It’s a good thing military spending is in no way pulled from exactly the same pot of money as other spending. I mean if that were the case this budget thing could be a major problem…
